What you really need is to extract data from paper as quickly and accurately as possible. Often it is a question of human input in the form of handwritten text, numbers or check marks and signatures.
Response documents, such as survey documents, election results or census forms, contain a lot of information. Very often meeting the deadline is critical and just as important as the quality of the output data so you need fast and accurate form processing capacity.
Different hardware often delivers very different results. When the form template setup is based on the computer image created in the form design software, copies that are provided by printers or faxes will most likely not provide a perfect match. Scanners may further increase the discrepancies.
